Hopefully it will get a lot longer as Life brings on the good stuff. Well, it could happen.
I have been making traditional jointed/articulated teddy bears since the early 1980's under the name Marilin's Bears. My bears are available in mohair or faux fur. Because of the high cost of mohair I tend to think of my synthetic/faux fur critters as the Working Class Bears. Like many bear artists, most of whom were already bear collectors, my first bear was born out of the realization that I could never afford a "real" artist bear, and forget about a Steiff! So I decided to try my hand at making my own. After much trial-and-error, Marilin's Bears was born.
After a lengthy hiatus from bear making I am Back in the Bear Biz. It was a no-brainer. Bears rock; unemployment not so much.
I have been creating hand and machine-sewn craft and wearable items for - well, forever. My recently designed "project bag" has been well received by sock knitters in particular. It is small enough to hang on a wrist or attach to a belt loop but will expand to hold a pair of socks-in-progress or a scarf as well as yarn, needles, even lunch if one is not a big eater.

A recent tour through the Rubbermaid Mountains in my basement left me awestruck that through the years I somehow managed to raise a family, work full-time, with an occasional part-time job thrown in, and still make ALL THAT STUFF. l will boldly say that even after the passage of time all that stuff still looks really good. Did I ever sleep? At all? My closest friends say no, of course not. I bet some of you know the feeling.
Gardening? I do try and Summer 2010 was my best year yet so Hope, like Weeds, Springs Eternal.
